Neath Port Talbot Council and Swansea Council are working with Swansea Bay University Health Board and Public Health Wales, to deliver a Contact Tracing Service; which is a vital part of reducing the number of people infected with Covid-19, the number of people with severe illness and reducing community and workplace transmission of Covid-19

The Service is responsible for receiving laboratory reports for confirmed cases, identifying their contacts, communicating with those contacts and following them up during their self-isolation period.

We are looking for compassionate and empathetic people to work as members of the Local Contact Tracing Team as Contact Advisors and responsible for communicating with those individuals who are Covid-19 Exposures. Whilst no medical knowledge is required, as a Contact Advisor you will be expected to make outbound calls to inform those individuals exposed to Covid-19 that they are a Contact and provide self-isolation and hygiene advice. You will undertake Daily Welfare Checks on those individuals for a period of up to 14 days whilst they are in self-isolation. You will be responsible for updating and documenting conversation content within the National Database System used for Tracing purposes. You will be expected to refer clinical queries to the Clinical Lead and escalate concerns or queries to Management or the Regional Team.

The shift pattern will be 35 hours per week, between the hours of 08.00am & 8.30pm, on a rota system of 5 days on, 3 days off, which includes working Weekends, Christmas and Bank Holidays.

Please note, these hours of work could be subject to change, dependent on the needs of the Service. Neath Port Talbot Council and Swansea Council are working with Swansea Bay University Health Board and Public Health Wales in managing a Covid-19 Contact Tracing Service and we are looking for competent Advisors to join our team. As these are joint posts, you will only need to complete one application form for a post in either authority as application forms will be shared. Candidates will need a good broadband connection. However, IT equipment will be provided to work from home appropriately. Please note that you will be expected to collect your IT equipment from The Quays, Baglan Energy Park, Neath SA11 2GG.

Key skills required include; • Experience of frontline working with the Public • Excellent communications skills • Good Team Player • Good knowledge and use of IT including Microsoft Teams • Experience of working with Databases • Experience of handling confidential and sensitive data in accordance with GDPR Legislation • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure • Ability to work on own initiative • Ability to make decisions
