We are looking to appoint an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic technical energy professional to join our Energy Management Team.

An opportunity has arisen within the Energy Management Team, this post will primarily play a central role in progressing the development and implementation of low carbon and renewable projects and programmes assisting the Authority move towards accomplishing the required transition to net zero energy/carbon.

The successful applicant will be required to assist the Energy Manager in the development, implementation and promotion of the Council’s aims and objectives with regard to Decarbonisation, Climate Change and Renewable Energy improvement programmes and relevant work concerning climate change mitigation and adaptation.

You will need to assist the develop low carbon, renewable energy and energy invest to save projects and programmes inclusive of a low emission vehicle strategy programme under the direction of the Energy Manager. Also support work activity on energy management / carbon reduction issues in line with county, regional, Wales, and UK-wide strategies, policies, plans and programmes.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a career background in energy management, carbon reduction, low emission vehicles, project management, environmental conservation and sustainability related issues within public sector organisations.

Expert knowledge of current legislation, regulations and standards relating to energy, renewable energy, low emission vehicles and is required for this post. The post holder will be required to work under competing pressures, able to work to tight deadlines and be flexible in their approach to work.

The post requires a minimum of HND ideally degree level qualification in an energy engineering, building services and environmental science (or other appropriate) or equivalent or significant relevant experience in energy, carbon and water management programmes. Welsh language skills are not necessary
