Participant Engagement and Support Officer (Afan Valley)

Salary: £10,590.70 - £11,693.40 per annum

The role of the Participant Engagement and Support Officer is to support individuals who are in, or at risk of poverty, consistent with the obligations under the Well-Being of Future Generations (Wales Act). You will work with key stakeholders such as Families First, Flying Start and Supporting People in providing pathways between programmes in order to provide interventions and support to prevent worklessness and economic inactivity.

You will provide support for participants who fall outside the currently tightly defined geographical boundaries and eligibility criteria of Communities for Work and other ESF Employability programmes. You will work closely with local community groups and individuals to raise the profile and awareness of the programme, creating opportunities in which to identify new participants, engaging and enrolling them onto the programmes.

You will provide a flexible, high quality service, working in partnership with Communities for Work, and will be expected to work as part of an integrated team.

The post requires 4 GCSE’s grade A to C or above, including English Language and Mathematics, or a qualification of a comparable level (eg. Intermediate GNVQ Level 2, BTEC First Certificate, NVQ Level 2).
