We are looking to recruit a Contract Monitoring Officer who can strengthen the monitoring/reviewing of statutory and non-statutory services commissioned by Neath Port Talbot Social Services, Health and Housing department.

As a member of the Common Commissioning Unit, this post will play a key role in monitoring statutory and non-statutory services including residential and nursing care services, domiciliary care and other services commissioned by the department.

This will require a person with a good understanding of statutory regulations as they would apply to key legislation such as the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act and the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016, a significant level of knowledge or experience in understanding regulated and non-regulated services will be required, including how minimum standards of care and support are maintained in a regulated environment. The post holder will also have good knowledge of the principles of contracting and contract management and a strong track record in a social care environment.

The post holder will be required to work under competing pressures, able to work to tight deadlines, be flexible and able to travel both in and out of county, monitoring services commissioned by the authority. There will also be a requirement to work occasional evenings or weekends, as required.

The post requires a QCF Level 4 or equivalent in care/management or a relevant discipline.
