Principal Engineer Pinchpoint and Upgrade

Salary: £37,890 to £41,881) per annum

(SWTRA) is responsible for managing, maintaining and improving the strategic road network in South Wales on behalf of the Welsh Government.

The Principal Engineer Pinch Point and Upgrade will support the Programme Delivery Manager in the overall development and delivery of the Welsh Government’s annual and multi year programmes for Pinch Point and Upgrade improvements across the Motorway and Trunk Road network across South Wales. The successful candidate will also act as SWTRA’s technical expert on all Pinch Point Schemes in line with WelTAG.

The successful candidate will be required to have relevant experience in the evaluation, assessment, appraisal and management of route corridor and scheme improvements in accordance Pinch Point and Welsh Governments WelTAG Framework coupled with a proven ability in project management within a civil engineering or highways environment. The role will require projects to be developed and managed for delivery through SWTRAs service providers.

You will possess a degree in Civil Engineering, or a construction related discipline or hold a professional qualification to Incorporated Engineer level as a minimum.
