It’s an exciting time in Children and Young People Services as we continue to make solid progress towards our aims of achieving quality, supporting families and effectively managing risk.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and experienced Independent Reviewing Officers in the Conference and Review Service.

The service provides a quality assurance role across Children’s and Young People’s Services, and is responsible for monitoring all looked after children and young people, children who are placed for adoption, and young people who are subject to Pathway reviews. The service also undertakes a safeguarding role and chairs all child protection conferences.

The successful candidates must have at least 5 years post qualification practice and have a good understanding and knowledge of all legislation and guidance relation to Child Protection and Looked After Children. You should have experience of chairing meetings of a challenging nature, and child protection within the court arena.

You will carry a caseload, chair Child Protection conferences and Looked After Children review meetings, and support other agreed processes within the service such as Pathway Plan Reviews and case file audits.
