We are currently looking to appoint a temporary Fostering Support Worker to cover sickness absence in the Fostering Team. The post holder will assist in the support and supervision of Family Friends Foster Carers. You must be confident in your abilities, be proactive, conscientious and hard working. You will be keen to develop new skills, work under pressure and demonstrate an ability to use your own initiative, as well as work as part of the team. The post holder must be aware of the induction framework as set out by Social Care Wales and work within regulations and guidance.

The post requires excellent communication and inter-personal skills and the postholder is required to build trusting relationships in sometimes difficult circumstances with the families they work with.

The Fostering Team is an established and committed team which strives to offer an efficient and effective Fostering Service. If you have the skills to be effective in this post, we would like to hear from you.

The post requires 4 GCSE passes, grades A-C including English or Welsh, or an NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline.

The ability to travel extensively throughout the Borough of Neath Port Talbot is essential.

Welsh language skills are not necessary.

The post is temporary covering sickness absence for 6 months in the first instance. A secondment will be considered, however, applicants will need to have approval from their substantive manager prior to applying for the post.
