Applications are invited for the post of Surveyor / Referencer within the Strategic Property and Valuation Management Section. The role of the surveyor / referencer will be to assist the senior surveyor and the drawing office team to provide professional technical support in the service delivery of the Councils land and property portfolio. Duties include providing a comprehensive surveying service, drawing office duties and complex plan preparation using various software packages. The surveyor / referencer role requires one to be competent in the preparation of topographical and measured building surveys for various specifications and it will be necessary for the candidate to have relevant experience working in a surveying environment. This will require use of specialist surveying software, AutoCAD with Geographic Information mapping (GIS) being essential. This post will also be required to assist in the administration of the Council’s property and land portfolio, in particular the updating of the Council land terrier GIS mapping records. In the role you must deal with general land ownership queries using the Council land terrier and HM Land Registry Portal. The post requires an ONC in Building Studies or equivalent. In the role you will make extensive use of industry standard I.T. systems such as Microsoft Office and the Councils Property Management System. You will possess excellent communication skills, be proactive and enthusiastic, able to work as part of a team and have the confidence to work with people at the highest levels.
